Week 2 - Camp Life
Well first off I must say God was moving in camp life every time He brought some shade and/or a quick sprinkle because this week was HOT!!!!! We started off Sunday in a blazing 105 and it was hard to motivate our campers to even sing silly songs, cause just breathing was making me sweat! But we made it through it and God still brought us together. I actually had to go lie down that afternoon because the sun had completely taken it out of me and made me quite sick to my stomach. God still moved through my staff and helped them to make it with one man down! Now if any of you really know me, you know that my favorite in camp activity is to play nine square and unfortunately nine-square never quite happened during first camp week, but I almost wanted to cry when I needed to draw the first nine square court on Sunday!!! The all week long nine square playing was just completely phenomenal! All of our worships went phenomenally this week and I think everyone really enjoyed them. I think our testimonial worship and fishhook service were both great and I am so happy for the time I got to spend with campers both of those nights. Furthermore, we had a special friend join us on our Friday night service. We found a two foot Copperhead slithering through worship as we finished our third song and I praise God that the snake just kept on going and didn't bother anyone, as a hospital visit during the middle of worship was not exactly my ideal! The campers this week were just phenomenal, I have had Ebenezer UMC from Old Fort once before and to have them as my campers again this year was awesome! They are a great bunch and especially there adults! Shout out to Peggy who just makes my job as a staff member so easy, keeping all them campers in line! Peggy you are a God send! Also, Drew was such an amazing adult diving for four square balls like none other and giving a super powerful communion! As well as the boys from Zion being super hilarious even though I had to be mean waking them up cause they would never go to bed and my boys upstairs, Josh, Alex, Seth, and Mason who were just sweethearts and I'm sure they loved my bedtime stories.
